The second half of the 2018 Bay State Soccer League season kicks off this weekend with Boston City FC’s Division 3 North team playing under a new name.
Previous knows as the club’s Under 20s, the Lions will now play as Boston City FC II and open the fall campaign at home to SR Young Boys at Daly Field in Brighton, this Saturday, August 25, kickoff 6pm. The team’s matches are presented by Boston-based recruiting firm The Gaisce Group.
The name change to Boston City II reflects a widening of the range of players who will have an opportunity to showcase their abilities in the BSSL and U.S. Open Cup, as the Lions continue to prioritize player development and provide a pathway to the club’s first team.
Under coach Cesar Deossa, Boston City II currently sits in seventh place in the BSSL Division 3 North with a 4-3-1 record, one place and one point behind Saturday’s visitors.
