Three Boston City FC teams in Brazil have won promotion in the academy’s inaugural season, with the Under 15s winning the state second division championship to cap an incredibly successful and memorable first campaign.

The Lions’ Under-15 and Under-17 teams were both promoted to the State First Division this weekend, where they will play alongside the youth teams of such famous Brazilian clubs as Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, Clube América Futebol Clube and Clube Atlético Mineiro next year.

The Boston City Under 20s team, which entered the professional ranks this fall, also secured promotion to the first division for 2019.

“I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Boston City FC Brazil project and have supported our vision since we first began to dream that this was possible,” said Boston City FC owner and president Renato Valentim. “From the leaders and people of the city of Manhuaçu, to the players, technical committee, directors and officials, and the great fans who have supported us, we have received great support to win these promotions.  We were able to meet our objectives in our first year.”
