Medford Soccer has extended its alliance with Boston City FC by committing to a second year of their local club’s Youth Soccer Partner Program through an alliance with Medford Soccer Club.
Youth players and coaches from Medford Soccer will again enjoy multiple benefits, including match day activities, coaching and player education and more Boston City player and coach inclusion in the Medford community.
Last season, several Boston City players arrived at Medford High School in the club’s branded minibus for a ‘Pitch Invasion’ as they took over Medford Soccer sessions, spending two hours teaching the first to sixth graders soccer fundamentals using fun training drills. Medford coach Sue Downs had an opportunity to shadow head coach Palhinha on the bench during a National Premier Soccer League match as a part of the initiative.
The Medford Soccer youngsters have been invited to come and roar on their Lions this Sunday at 6pm, when Boston City FC takes on the New York Cosmos at Malden Catholic in both clubs’ season opener.
“Our goal is to bring the game of soccer to the youth of our town,” said Medford Soccer First Vice President Tim Lambert. “We know that the quality of the play, coaching and the Boston City organization creates the perfect partnership and opportunity to help extend Medford youth engagement in the game of soccer.”
The Boston City FC Youth Soccer Partner Program is designed to engage multiple youth soccer clubs and programs in the area, providing an opportunity for higher levels of player training, coach education, inclusion, entertainment, inspiration and motivation.
Local soccer clubs and programs interested in partnering with Boston City FC to enjoy similar benefits should write to Contact@BostonCityFC.com or call 617-513-0202.
