The Boston City FC offseason tryouts, which kick off this weekend, will be presented by Boston-based recruitment firm The Gaisce Group.

The partnership between Boston City FC, which operates teams in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and the Bay State Soccer League (BSSL), and The Gaisce Group will include presenting sponsorship of the club’s Under 20s team matches in the BSSL.

“The connection between our ongoing search for excellence on the playing front and The Gaisce Group’s determination to match the right people with the right employers makes this a perfect partnership for our series of tryouts,” said Boston City FC Managing Director Craig Tornberg. “Our development team kicks off the second half of the BSSL season on August 25 and we are delighted that The Gaisce Group is on board as presenting sponsor for their matches.”

The Gaisce Group CEO and founder Sam Keif said: “We focus on working with industries and employers whose missions are aligned with ours in making a positive effect on the world. Our name ‘The Gaisce Group’ comes from a Gaelic word that essentially means setting a goal and achieving it. Just as we strive to achieve every goal and mission we set with our clients, we see that Boston City FC is just as relentless in pursuit of success.”

The Gaisce Group will feature in adverts during live broadcasts of Boston City FC matches, will have signage presence at all home matches and will feature through the club’s digital and social media platforms. They will source ideal candidates for a range of internships that are available at the club.

Boston City head coach Palhinha and his assistants will conduct tryouts at Daly Field in Brighton this Saturday, August 18, from 4pm to 7pm, as the Lions search for players with the potential to compete for a place with the first team in the NPSL, the second squad in the BSSL, and the U.S. Open Cup.

Prospective players wishing to participate in the upcoming tryouts still have time to register and complete payment at the Boston City FC website: http://www.bostoncityfc.com/aug-tryout/. All tryouts participants must be aged 18 or older.

Recruiting local players from open tryouts have given opportunities to several first team regulars including 2016 top scorer Homero Morais, defender Marcelo Cunha who is the club’s appearances leader, and 2017 regional all-NPSL midfielder Michael Rincon.
