Boston City FC II faces a crucial double-header of home matches in the space of the next five days, as they push for a promotion playoff place in the Bay State Soccer League Division 3 North.

All Boston City FC II matches are presented by Boston-based recruitment specialist The Gaisce Group.

First faces second this Saturday, October 6, at Daly Field in Brighton (kickoff 3pm) as the Lions (8-3-1, 25 points) host runaway league leaders Alleghany FC (12-1-0, 36 points) looking to avenge a narrow 3-2 loss to the table-toppers back in April.

Boston City II led 2-1 on that occasion but conceded two late goals to suffer an away defeat. Alleghany have won recent matches 13-0 and 6-2 and have scored an impressive 63 goals in 13 matches this season. Boston City II have also been free-scoring of late, winning by margins of 7-0 twice and 4-0, with Iraq Under 20s striker Wesad al-Saadi Reko scoring four goals in the Lions’ last win

On Tuesday, October 10, Boston City II will play a crucial game in hand over the rest of the promotion chasers, hosting ninth place Worcester County (3-5-3, 9 points) at Brother Gilbert Stadium in Malden at 8.30pm.

The Lions control their own promotion destiny, as they sit above the chasing pack of North Shore, Southie Reserves, Iraq FC and SR Young Boys and still have to face two more of their rivals for the playoff place.
