#11Bruno Bonicontro

Bruno played in 10 matches in 2016, operating both as a midfielder and defender.  Having started the campaign in midfield, he slotted into the left back spot at a crucial time during the Lions’ playoff run.

Born in Marlborough, Mass, Bruno’s family moved to Brazil when he was three months old and by the time he was 13 he was a frequent visitor to both countries. The midfielder played at UMass Lowell and then professionally in Brazil with Novo Esporte Clube and Ipatinga and has represented the United States at Under 17 level. He played for Worcester Hydra in the PDL in 2012, scoring 4 goals in 12 appearances. He was a target for the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL this season.

Bruno joined Cianorte Futebol Clube on loan in the fall of 2016 as the Division One club prepared for its Paraná State Championship campaign.

He started the 2017 season on the Lions roster, but left for personal reasons.
