Darlan came on for the final 17 minutes of action in the 2017 opening match 1-1 draw against New York Cosmos B, but left the squad for personal reasons.

Darlan played in the final seven matches of the 2016 season with an impressive return of three goals.  Two of those goals came against local rival Rhode Island Reds, the first in a 3-2 home win and the second the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory that clinched the Lions’ NPSL playoff place.

Brazilian-born Darlan has lived in the United States since 1997 and attended Framingham High School.  He played soccer at Union University in Tennessee and has also played with the Boston Bulldogs and with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil.  He played at EE Luciados Santos High School in his native Belo Horizonte.
