Boston City FC continue their National Premier Soccer League campaign on the road this Sunday with a visit to New York Athletic Club.
While the hosts will open their season at 3pm in Pelham, the Lions are playing their third competitive NPSL match of 2018. An opening day home loss to the New York Cosmos was followed by a 2-2 draw at TSF in New Jersey last week, with continued improvement on the agenda on Sunday.
Boston City has never lost at New York Athletic Club, managing a 2-0 win and 0-0 draw on previous visits.
A goal in each half eased the Lions to a 2-0 win away over in 2017, in a match littered with chances for the visitors. The perfect start came after only four minutes when Kamali Webson pounced on a defensive mix up to score from a tight angle on his first start.
Three points were effectively secured six minutes into the second half with a fine passing move. Homero Morais waltzed past three opponents, fed Isaac Addai, whose trickery released Luca Tarable to the end line and his cross was turned home at the far post by the architect of the move Morais.
It was Morais who opened the scoring in last week’s draw at TSF, while Addai fired home a free kick deep into added time to rescue a point.
Boston City return home for the visit of the famous Brooklyn Italians to Malden Catholic at 6pm on Sunday, June 3. Individual tickets and season tickets are available at the club’s website: http://www.bostoncityfc.com/news/tickets/.
