John made his debut in a 5-1 defeat at Brooklyn Italians in 2019, coming off the bench to score the Lions’ goal. He soon became the season’s joint-leading scorer with four goals as he claimed both goals away to Greater Lowell Rough Diamonds in a 2-1 win and netted against the Brooklyn Italians before leaving the team. He totaled 367 minutes in six matches.
John played for Greater Lowell in the NPSL in 2015 and 2016, scoring once against Boston City. He then lined up for the Lions in a friendly match against Endicott College following the club’s first season.
The forward spent time with New York Cosmos B in 2017 then went to France where he was playing in the nation’s sixth level until December. His father and brother are both named John, the tradition in his native Sierra Leone being to distinguish relatives by their middle name, his being Kumi.
